Introducing ClearEstate Cares
ClearEstate is giving back to end-of-life non-profit organizations that help families deal with the pain and challenges of losing a loved one.
Driven by our core values of Empathy First and Genuine Care, we created an opportunity to give back to an industry that doesn’t typically get the support, love and attention it deserves by founding ClearEstate Cares, a grant program that awards a total of $25,000 to three deserving non-profit organizations that strive to provide the best end-of-life care as possible.
Announced in November 2022, ClearEstate invited California-based, non-profit end-of-life care organizations to apply for the chance to receive one of 3 grants;
A $15,000 grant awarded to the organization that demonstrated the strongest empathy-first approach by creating the best overall experiences for both patients and families during the end-of-life process.
A $7,500 grant given to the organization that best showed a team who took the greatest amount of responsibility for their patient’s end-of-life care.
A $2,500 grant awarded to the organization that demonstrated the highest amount of compassion for families affected by the devastating loss of a loved one.
Our selection committee chose the winners based on not only the organization’s missions and values, but also their overall quality of care and the empathetic approach they take to make the grieving process better for both the patient and loved ones.
The selection process proved incredibly difficult due to the high volume and exceptional quality of the submissions we received. They were all deserving. Ultimately, we chose three non-profits that reflected deep care, compassion, and responsibility for their clients and families.
We are proud to announce the three grant recipients:
Community Hospice embraces individuals and families facing life-changing journeys, enhancing quality of life for all, by extending care to over 2,000 patients and families every year. Whether in private homes, skilled nursing facilities, or at the sixteen-room Alexander Cohen Hospice House, Community Hospice seeks to provide palliative care, grief, and mental services in addition to end-of-life care.
Providence TrinityCare Hospice is an innovator and leader in providing palliative care and in-home hospice for patients and families in need of end-of-life services. Their mission is to compassionately enter the lives of individuals faced with the realities of suffering, loss, death and grief, to offer expert care and education, while respecting each person's choices, values and beliefs.
Caring House was established to ease the burden associated with caring for a loved one at the end of life and/or spending it in a facility. As the first and only non-profit, home-based setting in Los Angeles County completely focused on helping residents and families through the end-of-life journey, it has transformed that often stressful and traumatic experience into a peaceful and dignified one.
“What an honor this recognition is!” says Alisa Bettis, President & CEO of Community Hospice. “This grant will allow our organization to continue to meet the hospice and palliative care needs of our deserving community.”
Liz Reinhart, Director of Development and Community Relations at Caring House, expressed delight at Caring House being selected as a grant recipient. “When we saw this opportunity, we couldn't believe how perfect it was for what we do. …there are indeed few and far between for this specific area, so we're grateful that you created this grant to help non-profits who work in the end-of-life sphere... We are beyond honored to have been selected.”
ClearEstate is honored to support these incredible organizations in the work that they do to provide peace and comfort at the end of an individual’s life. Like them, we understand that those moments are stressful and emotional, and that families need all the help they can get during those times. Whether it's by providing the best medical care possible, creating a comfortable home-based environment, supporting families with counselling and resources, or helping them navigate the complexities of end-of-life planning, we stand together with these incredible organizations and applaud them for the essential services they provide.
